Sitting on the square eating ice cream while Ray ate his lunch, hey if I want ice cream for lunch I can do that!!!, I saw this colourful picture and thought to myself, "That is so Mexico!" Gotta love it!!!

Saturday was the big move to Hacienda Flamingo. This is the central area of the hotel. All of the rooms around the four sides. I have gobs of great pics but the internet is so slow here that they will have to wait for another time.

This is the outside porch onto a hallway that goes no where. Don't ask. This is Mexico. We have a bedroom, kitchen, living room and two bathrooms. We could even swing a cat if we had one!!! We have breakfast included every morning and I sure hope it changes after the last two morning being pretty similar...... It is a great place to stay right across the road from the Hichol market. Many good restaurants are right up the road which is well paved and brightly lit.

OMG!!! We were invited to a wedding last Saturday of Jose, a former English student and his bride Erica. What a thrill. I actually got juicy when the invitation arrived. I had to forward it to my friend Sandra so she could tell me which church and where the reception was going to be held. Also, I needed to know if I had to wear a hat and cover my arms. I was happy to learn that is no longer necessary. The service lasted one and a half hours. I couldn't believe it. Some strange, to us, things happened and I need to check those out with some Mexican friends. The service was held at the central church on the square. We tried to go in one night years ago to listen to some amazing music and they came and closed the doors on us!!! Not to be discouraged, I was anxious to see the inside and it is so gorgeous. Much brighter than I had expected.
See the gold tabernacle on the alter? The priest opened it up and took out the big family silver goblet to serve communion which I intended to take but then decided not to. I had smiled at the priest as he came down the isle at the beginning of the service and he hadn't smiled back so I thought maybe he knew I wasn't Catholic. Oh, this is very cool. He sprinkled holy water on the couple before they came into the church and their parents and then the rings during the service. I wanted to be sprinkled too but didn't get the chance.

And here is Jose, Erica and their two beautiful children. Erica's dress was gorgeous and I have tons of pics but again, sorry, slow to no internet. Next Monday I will post a batch of wedding and Flamingos pics. The food was great with pork and fish tacos and coconut water, beer and red wine. Live music and lots of dancing. I felt so honoured to have been invited. There were gringos there and I hoped that they were Jose's customers as he now owns his own pool cleaning business and I hoped that my teaching him English had in some way helped his career along. You just never know in life what your efforts may yield.

So yesterday was our last Sunday having lunch at the beach with Joy. Sad. She had looked after all of our camping equipment for years, God bless her, and we had decided to give it all away as we won't be staying in San Blas like that again in the future. The Man really likes Flamingos so who knows, maybe we will come here for the winter at some point in the future. It certainly is very beautiful and quiet.
Well, next Monday will find us in Puerto Vallarta. Another huge change. Sandra is driving us down on Sunday. We will spend three nights there which will probably prove to be interesting and such a change of pace from San Blas.
Again, thanks for the comments. I love reading them. Thanks for coming along for the ride and I will see you here next Monday. Blessings.
