#8 A Vacation from the Vacation
No wonder my breakfast took forever to come. When it arrived, it was obviously a piece of art and delicious!!!!
FYI - When you travel and it takes forever to get your juice, it is probably because someone back in the kitchen is squeezing those oranges for you. Nectar of the gods!!!
Friday morning and the oyster divers are out there by the drove. You can't get fresher oysters than here on this coast. Out of the ocean. Onto your plate!!! I hope to have one more dozen before we leave.
Ray's food always looks better than mine. Good thing he shares......
And here we have my lunch. Good old Caesar salad with chicken. Ray got the eggs. I share too.
This is looking south from Casa Manana. See the house on the upper leftish corner? We stayed there one winter. I loved it.
Please someone identify this fish. I eliminated many pics the Man had taken of this and other dead fish on the beach. Really???
And here we are looking north.
Local fishermen all bundled up to fish in the morning. They were catching and not releasing.
Ok. I tried to get the hats in motion but missed. There is this very strange thing that happens at Casa Manana. It appears to happen every day. At about 10ish in the morning, this big bus pulls in full of kids. They trapes down to the south end of the restaurant carrying garment bags and boxes of shoes. They change into gowns and mortar boards on top of their teen ware, take zillions of pics, get changed into gowns and suits, zillions more shots, then individual shots, then beach shots and finally get back into bathing suits and take over the pool for an hour. This happened on the four days during our stay. Gobs of makeup, high heels, false eye lashes, the nails and again I'm left wondering about the value of intelligence in Mexican society that is given to women. So much fluff......
This was the view from our second story balcony. We were on the first floor for the first night with a patio and then had to move to the second floor for the last two nights. I love listening to the waves. So soothing. Since we were here last they have installed a huge jacuzzi like pool to the right. It was relaxing like reading beside the ocean.
Some Mexican restaurants have chickens and some have cats. That's walking around, not on the menu.
Here we go again. Ray's breakfast vs my breakfast.
This may be our last trip to Mexico. One of us isn't coming back to San Blas. Hard to think that we won't enjoy all of this again and again.
On Saturday we are moving to Hacienda Flamingos and it will be quite the change.
I'm sick again with some lung thing but I'm doing all I need to do to get better. Being sick away from home really sucks.
I'll be back here next Monday and hope you will be too. Thanks for all of the comments and for coming along on this journey. Blessings to you all and don't forget to share this with friends and family!!!!
